Audra McDonald is unrivaled in her range and the versatility of her talent as actor and singer. She was the recipient of an unprecedented 6 Tony Awards (two Grammy Awards) as well as an Emmy Award, McDonald was listed in Time magazine's list of 100 most influential people of the year 2015. In addition, she was awarded President Obama's National Medal of Arts for her accomplishments. As a result of her stunning soprano's tone and unsurpassed gift to tell dramatic stories, she has found success both on Broadway as well as at the opera as well as in both film and television. McDonald's first role as a dramatic actor on television was on the Peabody Award-winning CBS show Having Our Say The Delany Sisters' first 100 years. She appeared on the show in 1999. co-starred alongside Kathy Bates in ABC's acclaimed remake of Annie. In addition, she played an occasional role in NBC's Law & Order Special Victims Unit in 2000. McDonald was awarded the first Emmy for her performance as a character in The HBO adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize winning play Wit directed by Mike Nichols, starring Emma Thompson. In 2003, she was back on television but this time on Mister Sterling produced by Emmy Award winner Lawrence O'Donnell Jr., which starred Josh Brolin. The Bedford Diaries on the WB at the beginning of 2006, and Kidnapped, NBC. In 2016, McDonald was nominated for a fourth Emmy Awards for her appearance as a character in HBO's Lady Day at Emerson's Bar Restaurant & Grill, a movie-special. The Bite was a six episode drama about pandemics produced through Spectrum Originals in collaboration with CBS Studios. McDonald first played U.S. lawyer Liz Lawrence (now Liz Reddick), in CBS's law-and-order drama The Good Wife, in the year 2009. In the year 2018, she returned to that role in The Good Fight for Paramount+ as a regular in the series. Her performance received three Critics Choice Award Nominations. McDonald guest-stars on Julian Fellowes historical drama The Gilded Age.
